Astonishing ribbon mic upgrade I used this trafo to upgrade my Golden Age R1 mkII. It gives you way more transient detail and the highs seem to go way up. In fact, when used together with a Triton Fethead, it is a little too much in my opinion. This could be due to the factory installed meshes around the ribbon motor, which normally emphasise the highs in combination with the stock trafo. (So I guess, I have to get rid of them) However, when loading the ribbon mic with an impedance of around 2k, it sounds excellent! This upgrade is definitely well worth the money and will make you and your ribbon mic shine. And thanks Don, for the quick delivery!
