HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is an all-digital interface that was developed by the consumer electronics branch in cooperation with the motion picture industry. HDMI transmits digital video and multi-channel audio data loss-free and bi-directional without data compression via a 19-pole compact connector with a max. bandwidth of 10.22 Gbit/s (max. resolution 4096 x 2160p). An audio return channel has been incorporated just like the ethernet function with a data rate of 100 Mbit/s. A universal remote control of all devices connected via HDMI is possible with the built-in AV link protocol. The HDMI mini cconnection is present on certain HD camcorders. The HDMI mini adapter cables are suitable for linking several HD camcorders or for the connection to a HDTV panel or beamer.
